Terms and Conditions

The Rayovac, Audio Infos and EHIMA Audiologist of the Year competition is open to all hearing care professionals (hearing aid audiologists, audiologists and dispensers) in the UK, France, Sweden, Spain, Germany, Austria, Ireland, Switzerland, Denmark and The Netherlands.

1 winner will be selected per country.

Audiologists or dispensers must be nominated by patients or a close family relative on their behalf who have had – or are having – a device fitted between August 2011 and July 2015. Employees and their immediate families and those living in their same households, whether or not related, of Spectrum Brands (UK) Ltd. and its affiliated companies, are not eligible to enter.

Entries must only be submitted by patients or a close relative on their behalf, who will be asked to state how their hearing care professional has helped them and why they believe they should win the competition.

Entries can be made online at www.audiologistoftheyear.co.uk or on an official entry form or leaflet. Photocopies of official entry forms will also be accepted. The Organiser is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, or misdirected registrations, which will be disqualified. Any false information or misrepresentation submitted by an individual(s) will result in the relevant entries being disqualified.

Forms can be downloaded from the website in print ready format. Printed materials will also be available through some Rayovac distributors.

Postal costs must be borne by the person submitting the entry form. All entries must be received by 10th July 2015.

A panel of judges will select the winner of each country – each winner will receive £250 gross amount, a trophy, framed certificate, plus PR support pack for help in publicising their award locally.

There will also be framed “Commendation” certificates for all hearing care professionals shortlisted.

From these 10 country winners, a European hearing care professional winner will be chosen by the panel, who will receive a gross amount of £2,500 or an equivalent prize depending on local statutory requirements, a trophy and framed certificate.

Additionally the overall winning hearing care professional will be invited to collect their prize at 2015 Evening of Excellence at the EUHA congress in Germany – taking place 14th October 2015, Nuremberg, Germany.

The overall European winner must be able to travel to the congress to collect their prize. The organiser will pay for the return flights and one night accommodation for the overall winner.

The winning nominator will receive a gross amount of £250 cash plus a gift to the value of £200. All nominators of the winning audiologist will receive a small gift which they can pick up from their audiologist.

The winners will be notified by mail, email or phone. Each winner will be responsible for any prize tax as required by local law. If the winner of a prize cannot be contacted to collect their prize then the winner will forfeit their prize and it will be awarded to the second most voted for entrant. If the subsequent winner cannot be contacted to collect their prize then it will be awarded to the third most voted for entrant. If the third winner cannot be contacted to collect their prize then the prize will remain un-awarded.

The Organiser guarantees the compliance with the valid statutory provisions with regard to data protection. All winners and their nominator declare their consent that the details of their entry and any subsequent photography will be able to be used in local and trade publicity, e.g. press releases. Further, the winners and the nominators declare their consent that the organizer has the right to use all entries and imagery for publicity purposes, e.g. printed media, websites and/or social media sites.
