De mani\u00e8re accessible et divertissante, Rayovac\u00ae<\/sup> explique aux enfants ce qu\u2019est la perte d\u2019audition caus\u00e9e par le bruit, s\u2019assurant ainsi qu\u2019ils pourront entendre mieux et plus longtemps en \u00e9tant conscients des causes \u00e9vitables de ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne.<\/p>\n

La vid\u00e9o a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e au sein du site de production<\/a> de Rayovac\u00ae<\/sup> \u00e0 Washington, au Royaume-Uni, o\u00f9 des enfants de la r\u00e9gion ont pu participer \u00e0 une s\u00e9ance de pr\u00e9vention et de sensibilisation \u00e0 la perte auditive, sous la direction d\u2019Emily Balmer, audioproth\u00e9siste \u00e0 Harrogate.<\/p>\n

Explications de Paula Brinson-Pyke, Directrice marketing chez Rayovac\u00ae<\/sup> : \u00ab La Journ\u00e9e mondiale de l\u2019audition se tient le 3 mars de chaque ann\u00e9e. C\u2019est l\u2019occasion de sensibiliser la population sur les solutions qui existent pour pr\u00e9venir la perte auditive et la surdit\u00e9<\/a>, dans le monde entier. Le th\u00e8me de cette ann\u00e9e met l\u2019accent sur la d\u00e9tection et l\u2019intervention pr\u00e9coces en cas de perte auditive.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Il existe certains gestes simples que nous pouvons tous adopter afin d\u2019\u00e9viter d\u2019endommager notre audition avec des sons trop forts, peu importe notre \u00e2ge. Voil\u00e0 le message que nous souhaitons faire passer durant cette journ\u00e9e mondiale de l\u2019audition. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Un groupe d’enfants a rev\u00eatu des vestes de haute visibilit\u00e9 pour une visite d’une usine de fabrication de Rayovac\u00ae<\/sup> avant de participer \u00e0 une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 d’activit\u00e9s sur le th\u00e8me de la protection auditive. Les enfants ont pu utiliser des fils cure-pipes color\u00e9s pour repr\u00e9senter les fragiles cellules cili\u00e9es, qui sont endommag\u00e9es lors de l\u2019exposition \u00e0 des bruits trop forts, ou encore jouer \u00e0 se faire passer un message entre eux alors qu\u2019ils portaient tous des protections d\u2019oreilles. En plus de provoquer le rire des jeunes participants, ces jeux leur ont permis d\u2019en apprendre plus sur la perte auditive caus\u00e9e par le bruit, ses effets et les solutions pour s\u2019en prot\u00e9ger.<\/p>\n

Les enfants ont \u00e9galement re\u00e7u une formation de sensibilisation \u00e0 la surdit\u00e9, pour apprendre \u00e0 mieux communiquer avec les personnes souffrant d\u2019un trouble auditif, notamment en s\u2019exprimant clairement tout en regardant directement son interlocuteur.<\/p>\n

Emily Balmer est audioproth\u00e9siste chez The Hearing Suite. S\u2019exprimant \u00e0 propos des sons trop forts et du risque qu\u2019ils repr\u00e9sentent pour nos oreilles, elle explique : \u00ab En tant qu\u2019audioproth\u00e9sistes, nous avons r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement affaire \u00e0 des cas de perte d\u2019audition qui auraient pu \u00eatre \u00e9vit\u00e9s. Les enfants sont de plus en plus nombreux \u00e0 utiliser un casque ou des \u00e9couteurs durant des p\u00e9riodes prolong\u00e9es, notamment pour jouer sur leurs \u00e9crans, \u00e9couter de la musique ou regarder des vid\u00e9os en ligne. C\u2019est pourquoi nous devons leur enseigner les risques li\u00e9s \u00e0 la perte auditive due au bruit et comment la pr\u00e9venir.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Les enfants ont quitt\u00e9 Rayovac\u00ae<\/sup> avec une meilleure compr\u00e9hension des l\u00e9sions auditives, quand elles arrivent et pourquoi, et en sachant comment prot\u00e9ger leurs oreilles<\/a> dans ces situations. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Les membres du personnel de l\u2019usine Rayovac\u00ae<\/sup> de Washington sont eux aussi impliqu\u00e9s dans la sensibilisation des populations, notamment des enfants, aux l\u00e9sions auditives caus\u00e9es par le bruit. \u00c0 cet effet, ils organiseront une lev\u00e9e de fonds en faveur de la Global Foundation for Children with Hearing Loss<\/a>, une fondation qui aide les enfants touch\u00e9s par la perte d\u2019audition. L\u2019entreprise versera une somme \u00e9quivalente aux fonds recueillis dans le cadre d\u2019une vente de g\u00e2teaux et d\u2019autres activit\u00e9s organis\u00e9es tout au long de l\u2019ann\u00e9e, afin de s\u2019assurer que des milliers d\u2019enfants sourds ou malentendants puissent avoir acc\u00e8s \u00e0 un d\u00e9pistage pr\u00e9coce, \u00e0 des technologies auditives<\/a> et \u00e0 l\u2019expertise locale dont ils ne pourraient autrement profiter, pour leur permettre de vivre pleinement leur vie.<\/p>\n
